Shi was a Sekirei that first appeared during the attack on Izumo Inn when she, together with Uzume and Sai, tried to steal a Jinki from Minato on Higa Izumi's orders[1]. During this operation, she was defeated and terminated by Kazehana[2].

Appearance[]

Shi is a young woman of slender build, she has black hair which she wears in twin tails that reach to her breasts, with each tail being secured by a light coloured band, and multiple strands messily extending outwards, as well as light coloured eyes.[1] Shi wore a long white kimono-like garment (which appeared to be a kusode) with semi-detached sleeves (likely to hide her blades) and tied at her midsection by a white bow, a red skirt similar to a hakama, white stockings, and black boots.[1][2]

Personality[]

Compared to her partner Sai, Shi appeared to be much more quiet, withdrawn, unconfident, submissive, and apprehensive, while also appearing to be more intelligent, respectful, and level-headed.[1][2] She was quick to remind Sai of the possible punishment they would face at the hands of the Disciplinary Squad should they be caught in the act of antagonizing another prominent power in the Sekirei Plan.[1] She cared enough about Sai's wellbeing to attempt to calm her down when Uzume's hesitant behaviour rilled her up.[1] She was somewhat intelligent and analytical, noticing that she could quickly sneak away from the battles and begin the search for the Jinki, seeing as Uzume and Sai were distracting Kazehana and Homura, however, she didn't account for Kazehana watching her out of the corner of her eye, and stopping her.[1] Like Sai, she appeared to be fearful of the possible repercussions of failing her Ashikabi in the mission they had been assigned, explicitly stating that she "can't leave here without carrying out (her) master's orders."[1] She was brave enough to face down Kazehana, but balked in her attempt to initiate a battle with her upon realizing that she would be facing a Single Number[1], later closing her eyes while attacking the other Sekirei.[2]

Abilities and Powers[]

Shi Blade

Shi's arm-blade.

Shi fought with long, fairly wide blades attached to her arms, that appeared similar to pesh-kabz, albeit somewhat oversized, seemingly secured to a contraption that was partially hidden within her long sleeves. [1] She was somewhat fast and dexterous, although vastly inferior to Kazehana.[1][2]

Major Battles[]

Shi vs. Kazehana (lost)

History[]

Nothing about Shi's past is known in detail, although it can be assumed that she was raised by MBI in much the same way as Tsukiumi, Musubi, and other, more prominent Sekirei were, received tuning and training, and was released by MBI to participate in the Sekirei Plan. She also appears to be friends with Sai, indicating a possible history. At some point she met Izumi Higa, and was winged by him.

Synopsis[]

Shi first appears during the Third Stage, walking down the street towards Izumo Inn alongside Sai and behind Uzume, and is quickly detected by Kazehana.[1] Shi is the target of Sai's frustration when the former begins to express worry at the thought of the Disciplinary Squad becoming involved in their operation because of their choice to attack an Ashikabi's residence, which Sai dismisses, also getting annoyed at Shi's pet name for her.[1] Watching as Homura confronts Sai for damaging Izumo Inn, and  Uzume clashes with Kazehana, Shi deems it to be the opportune time for her to enter the Inn and retrieve the Jinki, however, a gust of wind stops her from advancing.[1] As Shi stumbles backwards, Kazehana glares at her, informing her that "no thieves or salesmen are allowed in here", referring to the Inn.[1] Shi retorts that she cannot leave the Inn and return home without successfully carrying out her Ashikabi's orders, revealing her name and number before lunging at Kazehana.[1] Kazehana blocks the attack with a wall-like construct of wind, and standing face to face with Shi, introduces herself, and reveals that she could tell that Shi's Ashikabi does not reciprocate her love for him. [1] When Uzume tells Sai and Shi that she no longer has any reason to work with them or their Ashikabi, and to leave the Inn at once due to Homura and Kazehana vastly outclassing them in power and experience, Shi appears to agree with Sai's outburst, clarifying that as a Sekirei of the "Ashikabi of the East", she has a duty to see the fight and mission through.[2] Shi is informed by her opponent that she'll be going all out, and charges Kazehana shortly thereafter with closed eyes.[2] Kazehana uses her Longsword of Wind technique as the younger Sekirei gets within range, slicing into Shi's chest and gravely injuring her, as Homura similarly defeats Sai with minimal effort.[2] Homura, Minato, Uzume, and Kazehana begin talking and reconciling as Sai and Shi fall defeated, but Sai is revealed to still be conscious/active, albeit barely.[2] Shi, however, is terminated, and Sai and Uzume soon follow.[2] Later, NatsuoBenitsubasa, and Haihane approach the group, presumably to collect the three bodies, although Natsuo only expresses interest in collecting Uzume's when addressing Minato.[2]
