Namiji (波路, Namiji) is Sekirei #73.
Appearance[]
Namiji has grey eyes and long, somewhat unkempt brown hair, with several longer strands tied into a tail falling down her back, and being secured by a white bow. She wears a tight, formfitting red and white top, leaving her back uncovered, with a white cloth wrapped around her hips. Long red gloves and stockings, ending in white trim, compliment her look.
Personality[]
Namiji is peppy, caring, and optimistic, openly showing her affection for her Ashikabi, and expressing confidence in their bond and future.
Abilities and Powers[]
Namiji is shown to be a weapons specialist, wielding a massive halberd. Her power must be at least above average since she was able to win the second match of the Third Stage in the Sekirei Plan, implying that she was the strongest out of herself and her four Sekirei opponents.
History[]
Nothing is known about her past, minus the standard tuning and training undertaken by all Sekirei. During the Sekirei Plan Namiji is able to meet and be winged by her Ashikabi, Takano Kouji. During their time together, Namiji clearly develops feelings for him.
Synopsis (Manga)[]
Namiji is seen in a fight against the Veiled Sekirei and the Death God, in which she was defeated and terminated by them due to an ambush ordered by Higa Izumi in order to steal their Jinki[1]. Her Ashikabi, Takano Kouji was wrapped up by Uzume's veils and asked to hand over the Jinki (#2) they'd won a few minutes ago in the second match of the Third Stage of the Sekirei Plan. After refusing to do so, largely because the Jinki was proof of the strength of his and Namiji's relationship, he was left heavily wounded lying next to his beloved Sekirei[2].
Synopsis (Anime)[]
Ever since Minaka announced to all Sekirei and Ashikabi that those who had not terminated at least one opposing Sekirei over the course of the Plan would be removed from it, Namiji and Koujii had been searching all over Shinto Teito for someone to battle and defeat. They made an actual appearance when Namiji defeated and terminated an unnamed Sekirei. In the aftermath, Kouji came up to see if Namiji, who had suffered a head injury during the fight, evidenced by the blood leaking from her hairline, was alright. After Kouji congratulated her, Namiji expressed that she felt relieved that they finally won a match before their time ran out and hugged her Ashikabi. However, they noticed the opposing Ashikabi's deep pain at the termination of his Sekirei. Kouji attempted to apologize, but the Ashikabi abruptly yells at him to not apologize. The Ashikabi states that he does understand the rules of the Sekirei Plan and its nature as a life-threatening competition. Despite this, he is still heart-broken after losing his Sekirei, saying that they didn't even desire to fight, just remain together. Namiji and Kouji remain silent and hold each other as Homura watches from the shadows.
Anime and Manga differences[]
- Other than in the Manga she has an appearance in a quick fight with an unknown Sekirei in the second season of the Anime[3].
- Her termination is shown in the manga, she is currently still alive/active in the anime.
